Status of compliance with the requirements

Enforcement procedure

CN (Combined Nomenclature)

Description:
The Combined Nomenclature (CN) is the goods classification used within the EU for foreign trade statistics.

Structure:
Subheadings in the CN are identified by means of an eight-digit numerical code. The very considerable numbers of subdivisions within the CN were introduced with the EU's specific customs and foreign trade statistics requirements in mind. The CN is revised annually.

As from 2016 on, the CN in the KDB has included, the speciell Positions, which are needed for ensuring confidentiality, for purposes of publication.

Period of application:
The CN is an annually revised classification whose implementation date is always 1 January and limit of operational life is 31 December.
