Foreign trade 2018 (final results): imports and exports exceed €150 billion each for the first time

Vienna, 2019-06-28 – In 2018, total imports amounted to €156.06 bn and total exports added up to €150.1 bn, according to final results by Statistics Austria. Compared to 2017, Austrian imports increased by 5.8% and Austrian exports rose by 5.7%. The global foreign trade balance showed a deficit of €5.99 bn. Working-day adjusted, the rates of increase were 5.7% for imports and 5.5% for exports.
