Services Producer Prices Index

The Output Price Index for Business Services (a.k.a. Services Producer Prices Index, SPPI) measures the average price trends of services produced by the particular activity (ÖNACE category). In principle, it comprises the total domestic output of services provided on the market in ÖNACE Sections G-N and P-T.

The Total Response Burden for the Service Producer Price Index in the year 2019 was 7 170 hours, which was 1.8 per cent lower than in the year 2018 (7 302 hours).

For the Survey on Producer Prices for Services every five years a new sample of enterprises is drawn. However, in years of sample selection the sampling population is higher than in the intermediate years because enterprises from the new sample are asked about their prices and enterprises from the old sample as well. In the year 2010 a new sample was drawn; for that reason the sampling population was considerably higher in 2010 than in 2011 to 2015. Again, in 2016 the sampling population was increased because of the new sample selection from 1 727 to 2 452 enterprises. The rise in the response burden in this year (+13.8 per cent from 2015 to 2016) was essentially due to this increase.
