Price increases for all construction branches in 2018

Vienna, 2019-02-08 – The construction output price index for the entire building construction and civil engineering sector (base year 2015) reached 106.4 index points (+2.8%) in 2018, according to calculations by Statistics Austria. In the fourth quarter of 2018, this index went up to 107.4 points, which represents a growth by 3.1% over the fourth quarter of 2017. In comparison to the third quarter of 2018, the construction output price index increased by 0.5%.

The construction output price index of building construction changed to 108.6 index points for the year 2018 which is an increase of 3.7% compared to 2017. However, the index of civil engineering increased by 1.6% (103.6 index points) in the same reference period.
