Vienna, 2022-05-13 – The construction cost index (base 2020) for construction of residential buildings reached 124.0 index points in April 2022, according to calculations by Statistics Austria. This represents an increase of 16.0% against April 2021. Compared to March 2022, the index increased by 2.4%.

The index for road construction reached 128.2 index points (+21.5% in annual comparison), the index for bridge construction increased to 132.5 points (+21.1% compared to April 2021), and the index for sanitary engineering stood at 121.8 points (+16.1% in annual comparison).
