Vienna, 2022-04-15 – The construction cost index (base 2020) for construction of residential buildings reached 121.1 index points in March 2022, according to calculations by Statistics Austria. This represents an increase of 15.2% against March 2021. Compared to February 2022, the index increased by 4.6%.

The index for road construction reached 125.7 index points (+21.6% in annual comparison), the index for bridge construction increased to 128.4 points (+20.3% compared to March 2021), and the index for sanitary engineering stood at 119.8 points (+15.5% in annual comparison).
