Number of deaths increased above the five-year average

Vienna, 2021-04-15 – According to preliminary results by Statistics Austria, 1 750 people died in Austria in calendar week 13 (from 29 March to 4 April 2021), 109 more than in the previous week (calendar week 12 from 22 to 28 March with 1 641 deaths). The current number of deaths is 5.8% above the five-year average (2016–2020) for calendar week 13.
