February is the most important winter tourism month with a 25% share of the whole season's nights spent. A regional analysis shows that 75% of all nights spent in February 2020 ocurred in the western Laender Tyrol (42.2%), Salzburg (25.2%) and Vorarlberg (7.6%). These three regions also account for 3.07 million of the 4.62 million tourist arrivals in this month. The capital Vienna accounted for 6.4% of total nights, 2.4% of total arrivals in February.

The top 10 municipalities according to the number of nights spent – apart from Vienna – are the ski resorts Saalbach-Hinterglemm, Sölden, Schladming, Ischgl, Flachau, St. Anton am Arlberg, Zell am See, Mittelberg, Mayrhofen and Lech.
