Classifications are one of the most fundamental tools with respect to the compilation of statistics, and are intended to provide substantiated information and relevant forecasts concerning social and economic matters. Statistics Austria therefore uses a range of national and international classifications. These are revised in a coordinated effort at both national and international level at regular intervals and are adapted to changing social and economic conditions.

You can use the navigation links on the left to obtain information about all the classifications used by Statistics Austria and directly associated activities. Click on Classification database to display the individual classifications and obtain information about the classifications and the related international system.

You can use the ÖNACE 2008 implementation link to access information about all current activities related to the NACE revision at national and international level. You can also access all completed parts of ÖNACE 2008, which is due to come into effect in Austria in 2008.
