Special Data Dissemination Standard (SDDS+)

Austrian participation in the Special Data Dissemination Standard of the International Monetary Fund

Due to the growing demand of the international capital markets for recent and reliable figures originating form economic and financial statistics and striving for creating standards for publication, the so called Special Data Dissemination Standard (SDDS) was established by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to guide member States that have, or might seek, access to international capital markets in the provision of their economic and financial data to the public. SDDS consists of qualitative information (metadata) concerning the most important economic data as well as to their availability and release dates. This information is provided by competent institutions of the member states and made publicly available via internet by the IMF. Taking into account modern developments in the use of statistical figures SDSS was revised by the IMF (SDSS+). Besides metadata SDDS+ provides links pointing to data not only in a human readable format but also to machine readable SDMX-files.

Austria has entered SDDS+ by January 10th 2017. Being the main provider of official statistics in Austria Statistics Austria as being responsible for a significant amount of the indicators/statistics required by the IMF provides the relevant data on her webpage. The data can as well be reached by the Austrian National Summary Page of the IMF.
