The used vehicle registration statistics show all motor vehicles and trailers that have previously been registered in Austria or abroad, irrespective of the registration’s duration. The used vehicle registrations also include registrations that have to be carried out due to a change of the vehicle registration center (registration authority) following a move or a change of location.
The used vehicle registration statistics are based on the daily data transmission of registrations by the Association of Austrian Insurance Companies (VVO). The official license plate is used as the basis of a registration. Not considered are all vehicles of the Federal Ministry of Defense as well as license plates for test drives and transfer drives. If available, the monthly results can be evaluated according to regional breakdowns, as well as vehicle-related and registration-related characteristics.
