Unemployment benefit and unemployment assistance are the most important cash benefits from unemployment insurance. Unemployment benefit is paid for a limited period, while unemployment assistance, which can be claimed subsequently, is paid indefinitely if certain conditions are fulfilled. The benefits are administrated by the Austrian Public Employment Service which is also providing the statistical data.
