The General income report under the Federal Constitutional Act on the Limitation of Holders of Public Offices (Bezügebegrenzungsgesetz) is prepared every other year on behalf of the Court of Audit and relates to the two previous years. The report depicts average incomes, broken down by women and men, and – in compliance with the legal remit – broken down by sector, occupational group and job position. The very detailed evaluations are based on administrative data (wage tax data, income tax data, data from the Federation of Social Insurance), supplemented by data from the microcensus. The report offers a presentation and analysis of the incomes of employees, self-employed persons and pensioners. In addition to the development of incomes since 1998, the first reporting year from which a uniform database is available, the report also includes a comparison of the federal provinces. A Statistical Annex provides detailed tables.
