The quarterly Building permit statistics report on building permits for apartments and new buildings according to features, developers and types of construction. The data comes from the Buildings and dwellings register, the law on which also orders and regulates this statistic. According to the EU regulation of the European Parliament and Council, EU Member States are obliged to report approval indicators on a regular basis.

The data is valid from 2010. No results are available for Vienna on extensions, construction or conversion work on existing buildings.

To improve data quality, the results are estimated with regard to late registration activity. Therefore, regular revisions are initiated with the annual financial statements.
