The quarterly Building permit statistics report on building permits for apartments and new buildings according to features, developers and types of construction. The data comes from the Buildings and dwellings register, the law on which also orders and regulates this statistic. According to the EU regulation of the European Parliament and Council, EU Member States are obliged to report approval indicators on a regular basis.
To improve data quality, the results for the last three years include additional estimates with regard to late registration activity. Therefore, regular revisions are initiated at the end of each financial year.
Break in time series 2024: Results for Vienna regarding extensions, additions and conversions on existing buildings are available from 2024 onwards.
