15.8 %
Gone up +1.2 percentage points compared to 2021

The EU-wide “lifelong learning” structural indicator was developed to measure participation in training and further education. This indicator measures the proportion of the population aged between 25 and 64 that participated in training and further education activities during the four weeks prior to the survey; data is collected continuously as part of the Microcensus Labour Force Survey (sample survey).

In the reporting period for the last twelve months before the survey, the Adult Education Survey (AES; sample survey) provides a broad overview of the education and learning activities of the Austrian resident population in adulthood. As of AES 2022, the previous five-year implementation rhythm will be extended to six years. In the results tables evaluations are available on areas such as education and training, barriers to education, informal learning, and languages by sociodemographic characteristics.
