Persons with disabilities are recorded in several public administration registers, given they hold certain statuses or applied for/receive certain benefits. These statuses and benefits are: federal long-term care allowance (“Pflegegeld”), including care level; the Austrian disability pass, including degree of disability and additional entries; the status “registered persons with disabilities according to the Disability Employment Act" (“begünstigt behindert”), including degree of disability and additional entries; and a degree of disability below 50 %.
For the purposes of the Disability and Participation Statistics, these groups identified in register data are referred to as persons with “registered disability”.
