Austrian press and book production is presented using statistical and administrative data from various bodies. On the one hand, this includes daily newspapers and their reach as well as federal press subsidies, and on the other, newly published book titles and university theses. On the subject of radio and television, secondary data on registered radio and television subscribers, radio and television programmes as well as daily reach and market share are published. Some data on ORF (the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation) is also presented. The data on cinemas comes mainly from the Association of Cinemas, Cultural and Entertainment Enterprises and the Austrian Film Institute. It shows the structure, the number of cinema admissions and the net revenues of the cinemas as well as the films shown and the subsidies for film production. The statistics on film festivals are compiled by the Forum of Austrian Film Festivals.

All data sources are available annually.
