Income tax statistics, which are published annually in March of the third year following the year of assessment, provide information about the income and taxation of natural persons subject to income tax. Income tax statistics present the number of persons assessed, their earnings (by income types), taxable income, income tax, wage tax deducted, tax liability or credit, tax credits and other characteristics. The predominant income type and the type of tax assessment are also documented. Most of the tables are split by gender. Regional results are analysed by federal provinces, NUTS units and political districts. Income tax statistics are secondary statistics and are based on data that is stored by the financial administration in the course of income tax assessment.
