Producer price indices for services (services producer price index, SPPI) measure the average quarterly price development of services in selected service sectors. The concept of the SPPI relates to activities or services provided by a resident enterprise on the domestic market or abroad. Imported services do not count as domestic output and are therefore not recorded. In contrast to the industrial producer price index, no “overall index” is currently calculated for services; instead, individual indices are calculated for just under two dozen selected service sectors.
