The Index of Agreed Minimum Wages 16 (TLI 16) measures the minimum wage development in Austria on the basis of selected wage and salary positions. These are provided with a weighting scheme based on the collective wage totals of the index position for the base year 2016 (Laspeyres index). For the further calculation of the TLI 16, only the wage and salary statements of the following years are required; the base weight remains unchanged. This index calculation allows a pure observation of the change in the collectively agreed or legally prescribed minimum wages and salaries. The TLI 16 is an important evaluation criterion for wage and salary negotiations and, together with other indicators for wage and price developments, represents an important and very up-to-date economic indicator. The TLI is listed in Annex II to the Federal Statistics Act 2000, since it relates to the fulfilment of an EU national accounts obligation. The Index calculator allows you to carry out value protection calculations yourself.
