Families according to the nuclear family concept are couples (married couples and cohabiting couples) with or without children as well as single-parent families. This family concept only includes persons living in the same household.

Labour force participation and the extent of male and female employment (full-time, part-time) according to the definitions of the International Labour Organization (ILO) is presented by family type (couple family, single-parent family), age of the youngest child and number of children in the household. Employment rates and part-time rates of mothers and fathers are also shown according to these characteristics. The results come from the Microcensus Labour Force Survey (sample survey) as well as the Register-based Labour Market Statistics (administrative data).
