These statistics are based on the EU data linkage “Trade by Enterprise Characteristics”, which must be compiled by all EU Member States. The Austrian international trade in goods statistics (ITGS) are linked at microdata level with the associated enterprise characteristics in the statistical business register and the foreign affiliates statistics (FATS). This statistical product enables additional information to be obtained on companies which are engaged in ITGS. For those respondents behind the flows of goods in ITGS, a number of different indicators according to the national concept is available, which allow cross-border trade in goods to be broken down by:
- Activity sector (NACE),
- Enterprise size class,
- Concentration of trade,
- Geographical diversification,
- Traded products (CPA),
- Ownership and
- Export intensity.
