The productivity index is beside the production index a common indicator to monitor and evaluate economic processes. The development of the output factor production (production index) is compared to the development of the input factor labor (labor input index).
The productivity indicators of persons employed on the one hand and of hours worked on the other hand, are calculated for the industries and construction area at the level of sections and subsections B to F of ÖNACE 2008 as well as at the level of main industrial groupings (MIG). The current reference year is 2021, the next rebasing will be in 2025. First preliminary results are published 70 days after the end of the reporting period and final results in August of the year following the reporting year.
Further information on the index of production you will find in our meta documentation.
