The survey on fruit production is carried out annually and includes intensively cultivated fruit plantations as well as extensively cultivated fruit growing areas. Production data on intensively cultivated fruit plantations are based on yield reports of agricultural chambers and on the harvested area, following the results of the latest survey on fruit plantations, which is updated regularly until new results are available (estimations of agricultural chambers, Agrarmarkt Austria – funding applications). Production of extensively cultivated fruit growing areas is calculated based on yield reports of voluntary harvest reporters and the number of fruit trees (estimations based on the latest farm structure survey). The first production forecasts are already published in June, the final results are normally available in November of the actual year.
