The number of eggs placed in incubation and the amount of chicks hatched of chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys and guinea fowls are collected monthly by direct survey of poultry hatcheries. There is a legal reporting obligation of hatcheries with an incubation capacity of at least 1 000 eggs.
