Agricultural and forestry producer price statistics currently include just over 200 precisely defined animal and plant products. With a few exceptions, both a weighted price for the federal provinces and a national average price are calculated for each of these. These are net prices for the first trading level (from the agricultural holding, without VAT and without transport costs). Both monthly and annual average prices are provided.
The producer price survey is carried out in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Regions and Water Management (BML), Agrarmarkt Austria (AMA), the Austrian Chamber of Agriculture (LKÖ) and the regional chambers of agriculture in the federal provinces. The producer prices are an important basis for calculating the production value of the individual product categories within the framework of the agricultural and forestry accounts, and for creating the agricultural price indices.
