The regional economic accounts for the forestry industry (REAF) focus on the production process of the "forestry and logging" sector at the level of the federal provinces. The regional breakdown facilitates a discussion of the disparities among the federal provinces against the background of the current developments and challenges faced by the domestic forestry industry and to further highlight the individual contribution of the federal provinces to the value added.

The calculations correspond to the concepts and methods of the accounts for the forestry industry on the national level (EAF). The sequence of accounts is in line with the EAF, yet the scope and level of detail of the REAF is more limited due to conceptual and measurement difficulties. The regional accounts are published annually for the calendar year. Data is sourced from Statistics Austria and external institutions.
