The economic accounts for the forest industry (EAF) analyse the production process of the “forestry and logging" sector. The accounts cover all enterprises and local units that contribute to the performance of an activity belonging to the sector, and display their economic activities in form of aggregate variables. These comprise flows that describe the creation, distribution, redistribution or consumption of economic values in monetary terms, such as the production value or the intermediate consumption.
The EAF record all flows in a sequence of interconnected accounts. In each account, the flows are compared according to supply and use to derive balancing items, which serve as reference aggregates for the economic performance of the forestry sector, such as the value added or the generation of income. The EAF are published annually for the calendar year at current and constant prices and sources data from Statistics Austria and external institutions.
