Regional economic accounts for agriculture

The regional economic accounts for agriculture (REAA) depict the economic situation of agriculture at the level of the federal provinces. They show regional disparities and provide information on the regional contributions to the output value and value added of domestic agriculture. The REAA are based on Europe-wide consistent concepts and rules. Due to conceptual and measurement problems, the set of accounts for regions are more limited in scope and detail than EAA at national level.

Main data sources for the REAA are agricultural production and price statistics as well as the results from the national farm accountancy data network. The REAA are part of the EU delivery program for the EAA. They are also used as a basis for calculations in the regional accounts in the framework of national accounts. The results of the REAA, which are published in October n+1, are consistent with the EAA data published in July of the same year.
