This annual monitoring report provides a comprehensive overview of current development in primary education in Austria, the federal states and at district level. It presents key figures such as the number of childcare facilities, attendance rates for children aged to five years and the proportion of children attending a facility that is compatible with their parents' full-time employment. The key figures are presented in graphs and tables.

The extended attendance rate of children is shown for the first time. In addition to the care of children in educational institutions, children in childminders are also presented.
