The child and youth welfare statistics (KJH statistics) compiled by Statistics Austria replaced the youth welfare and child and youth welfare report submitted by the Federal Ministry for Families and Youth (BMFJ) until the 2014 reporting year. Like this report, it is based on the aggregate data reported by the federal states. 2023 is the ninth reporting year of the KJH statistics.
The child and youth welfare statistics essentially provide information on
- the number of children, adolescents and young adults in the areas of parenting support, full parenting support, assistance for young adults, involvement in adoptions and legal representation;
- the number of services and benefits granted for risk assessments, educational support and social services;
- the total expenditure for educational support, full educational support and assistance for young adults as well as the total income from cost reimbursements.
