ICT-Usage in enterprises - Usage of information and communication technologies in enterprises 2021
This publication presents the results of the survey on the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) in enterprises in 2021, which contains basic data on Internet use, use of broadband connections and use of cloud services. Furthermore, enterprise data on e-commerce sales via websites, apps or online marketplaces as well as EDI-type messages are illustrated. According to the “Digital Agenda for Europe” which is one of seven initiatives for the EU’s growth strategy and the relevant benchmarking framework “Monitoring the Digital Economy & Society 2016-2021” there were additional questions on the topic of internet of things, e-business and artificial intelligence introduced in the survey 2021. The analysis of enterprise data is broken down by economic activities and size classes.
The data provided in the publication is sourced from the European survey on ICT usage in enterprises 2021 which was conducted by Statistics Austria using a questionnaire that is uniform in the European Union, standardised definitions and standardised methodology. The survey was a sample survey among enterprises with at least ten persons employed in selected industries. The survey was carried out on the basis of an EU legal framework that is binding for Austria.
