About one third of Austria’s total energy consumption can be attributed to private households. This publication provides a detailed analysis of how much energy households consume and for which purposes. For this analysis, around 1500 observations of private households were obtained through an external data source, namely the “Energiespar-Check” webpage maintained by the E-Control. To gain further insights into detailed household energy consumption, the data from this external source is additionally linked to the Microcensus Housing and Labor Force Survey, specifically to the supplementary module “Energy consumption of private households.”
