The Income Tax Statistics examine the income of natural persons based on information from the income tax assessment process. They provide comprehensive information on the number of taxpayers, their income and losses by type of income, taxable income, and the assessed income tax. In addition, the statistics report credited wage tax, tax payable or refunds, as well as claimed special expenses and tax credits. Breakdowns by gender, age, income level, economic sector, and region offer insights into the distribution of income in Austria.
