The Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC) is an initiative developed under the leadership of the OECD to empirically assess and analyze key competencies in adulthood.This expert report provides in-depth analyses based on the latest PIAAC data for 2022/23 and was compiled by specialists from various research disciplines. The twelve contributions cover a wide range of topics, with the focus primarily on the situation in Austria. Some studies broaden their perspective to include relevant comparison countries, thus also opening up an international perspective. With its comprehensive analyses, this anthology enables an informed discussion of possible measures and practical recommendations for action.
