This publication summarises current developments among children aged zero to sixteen in childcare facilities in Austria and documents, broken down by province and type of child care, data is provided on the number of day care centres (crèches, kindergartens, after-school care centers and mixed-age care centers), opening times, days of closure, etc. for the 2024/25 reporting year. The children looked after in day care centres are characterised by age, citizenship and length of attendance at the centre. Furhtermore, children with childminders are also included in the attendance rates and shown as an extended attend-ance rate. This includes those childminders who look after at least one child for 15 hours per week. The survey results are concluded by a staff table showing day care staff by age, employment status and gender.
