The monitoring report summarizes the current development of children aged zero to five in childcare facilities in Austria. Key figures such as the number of childcare facilities, attendance rates and the proportion of children attending a facility that is compatible with their parents' full-time employment are presented graphically and provide a good overview. Only children between the ages of zero and five who attend a childcare facility (crèches, kindergartens and mixed-age childcare facilities including after-school care) in the public and private sectors are considered. Accordingly, only facilities attended by children aged zero to five are included.
