With its figures and data, Statistics Austria provides a reliable foundation for fact-based public debate, empirical research and evidence-based decision-making in society, politics and the economy – for example with regard to challenges and policy choices in the labour market, education, and social and economic policy.
Building on the strong performance of the institution, the present Strategy 2030 sets out the strategic considerations for the further development of Statistics Austria for the period 2026 to 2030. These were developed taking into account existing European and national frameworks, key developments within the ESS, technological progress, and the significance of the institution for Austria as a business and research location.
The Strategy 2030 aims to ensure that Statistics Austria not only maintains but continuously enhances the substantial societal value it generates, which is reflected in its user groups — society, the economy, science, politics and public administration. Innovative action and the effective use of digitalisation are among the core principles guiding the work of Statistics Austria.
