The survey on environmental protection expenditure in the service sector provides an important data foundation for calculating the national expenditure on environmental protection. These figures are included in the statistics on the environmental protection expenditure accounts in Austria and are subsequently used for European comparisons as part of the European environmental economic accounts.
Survey on environmental protection expenditure in the service sector

- Federal Statistics Act 2000, Federal Law Gazette I No. 163/1999 as amended
- Regulation (EU) No. 691/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council on European environmental economic accounts

Currently, the survey on environmental protection expenditure in the service sector is conducted every seven years. The survey for the reporting years 2024 and 2025 will be distributed in the summer of 2026. The reporting deadline for businesses is set for 30 August 2026.
A reminder letter with a reporting deadline of 31 October 2026 will be sent out.
