Continuing Vocational Training

The Continuing Vocational Training Survey (CVTS) is conducted every five years in all Member States of the European Union. The survey covers company provided training courses and other forms of continuing vocational training, as well as a few questions on apprenticeship training. As a business survey, the particular strength of the CVTS lies in examining the topic from the perspective of companies and addressing corporate training policies in detail.

This survey is based on a harmonised methodology and uniform definitions across Europe. Due to the standardised questionnaire used in all EU Member States, Europe-wide comparability is ensured.

Key results from the most recent survey on continuing vocational training (CVTS6) are available free of charge on our website.

Information and results at the European level can be found on the Eurostat website.

Statistik Austria is currently conducting the survey on Continuing Vocational Training (CVTS7)– on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economy, Energy and Tourism as well as the European Union (Eurostat).

The survey is based on EU regulations that require Austria to collect information every five years on the extent to which Austrian enterprises provide continuing vocational training and what strategies or objectives companies pursue with regard to continuing vocational  training. The survey follows a harmonised methodology and uniform definitions across Europe, ensuring that the results are comparable throughout the EU.
