The federal law on the simplification of procedures for the recognition and evaluation of foreign educational qualifications (Anerkennungs- und Bewertungsgesetz, BGBl. I Nr. 55/2016, abbreviated as AuBG) stipulates that Statistics Austria publishes a statistic on these procedures annually.
Various public authorities are responsible for the recognitions and evaluations, including universities, federal ministries, federal states, chambers and education directorates.
The Survey on recognition and evaluation of foreign qualifications has so far been carried out eight times. The results of past surveys are included (in German) in the section Bildungsstand der Bevölkerung under the tab “Detailergebnisse”.
The survey for the 2024/25 reporting year will take place from the end of October to December 2025.
