The Federal Statistical Office of Austria ("Statistics Austria") is committed to an active equal treatment policy to ensure equal opportunities for all genders. Likewise, unequal treatment on the basis of age, religion or belief, ethnicity or sexual orientation is not tolerated.
The "Bundes-Gleichbehandlungsgesetz" (Federal Equal Treatment Act; in German only) applies to the Federal Statistical Office of Austria. In addition to measures for equal treatment, it also prescribes measures for the advancement of women, as long as equality between women and men has not been fully achieved.
