The Austrian Statistical Society (ÖSG) is a non-profit association of statisticians from universities and research institutions, public administration, and industry. It is dedicated to promoting the statistical sciences in all their areas and applications.
The ÖSG Statistical Days 2026 will take place from 9 to 11 September 2026 at the premises of Statistics Austria. The aim of the event is to provide experts from academic, applied, and official statistics with a platform for exchanging ideas, research findings, and practical solutions, as well as to strengthen networking within the community.
A special focus is placed on the first conference day, which is dedicated to official statistics and current challenges in national accounts. Particular attention will be given to developments related to the ongoing revision of the System of National Accounts (SNA) and their implications for the practice of official statistics.
In addition, the following conference days will cover current topics such as data science, functional data analysis, statistical computing, artificial intelligence, as well as statistical methods in finance, insurance, and industry. Issues of statistical literacy and methods of official statistics will also be discussed.
The Statistical Days are especially aimed at young statisticians, offering them the opportunity to present their work to a professional audience and to establish valuable contacts.
We look forward to your participation and to an engaging professional exchange!
On behalf of the organizing committee,
Manuela Lenk
Director General of Statistics Austria and President of the Austrian Statistical Society
