Results

The transport volume of 60.8 million tons in the reporting year 2010 was 1.0 million tons respectively 1.7% below the reference value of the preceding year which is due both to a decline of 2.3% (2009: -1.4%) to 32.4 million tons in transports of petroleum and 1.0% less (2009: -3.1%) to 28.4 million tons in transports of natural gas.

Transport performance (i.e. the product of transport volume and distance) showed a similar development with a total decline of 508 million ton kilometres (tkm) to 14 542 million tkm, a minus of 3.4% compared to the year before. The transport performance of petroleum dropped by 4.2% to 7 000 million tkm (2009: -2.9% to 7 304 million tkm) and such of natural gas by 2.6% to 7 542 million tkm (2009: -5.9% to 7 746 million tkm).
