In contrast to the preceding period, the number of
accidents in the aviation sector increased by 19.6% from 92 in 2009
to 110 (+18) in 2010 with a peak in the months of April to August. In
general aviation, there was an increase of 23.1% to 64 accidents (2009:
52) while in commercial aviation an augmentation of 6 accidents or 15%
to a value of 46 (2009: 40) had to be accepted.
The total number of accidents causing material damage
also rose by 14.8% to 93 (2009: 81) in the year 2010 with 84 events
(2009: 74) related to motor flights and 9 events (2009: 7) related to
gliding flights.
15 people were slightly injured (+11 compared to 2009),
18 were seriously injured (+4 compared to 2009) and 14 people were killed
(+4 compared to 2009) in accidents during the year 2010.
