Index of Agreed Minimum Wages 06

The Index of Agreed Minimum Wages 06 (basis: 2006 annual average = 100) measures the minimum wage trend in Austria. The index is a key evaluation criterion for wage and salary negotiations and, in conjunction with other indices relating to wage and price trends, an important and extremely up-to-date economic indicator.

In December 2011, the index reached a value of 113.6 (provisional figure), there was no change compared the previous month. The rate of increase compared with December 2010 was 2.2%.

In 2011, the annual average of the Index of Agreed Minimum Wages 06 amounted to 113.6. In general, minimum wages were 2.0 per cent higher than in the previous year (+2.3% for blue collar workers, 2.2% for white collar workers and 1.1% for civil servants).

The Index of Agreed Minimum Wages 86 has been replaced by the Index of Agreed Minimum Wages 06 (basis 2006 = 100) since the January 2008 reporting month.
