Corresponding to the concepts of the European Union, the GRP is calculated by allocating the national Gross Domestic Product according to the regional Gross Value Added at basic prices. - 2) Resident population (annual average). - 3) According to the NUTS classification (hierarchically structured, standardised territorial classification used for compiling the European Union's regional statistics) the Austrian Länder correspond to NUTS 2 regions. NUTS is short for "Nomenclature des unités territoriales statistiques" or Nomenclature for Territorial Units for Statistics.
