Average working time

The average working time is collected for employed persons. According to ILO definitions a person is considered to be employed if he or she worked for at least one hour in the reference week, or did not work due to holiday, illness, etc. but is normally in employment. Persons on long term absences as e.g. women on parental leave are included in the category of employed persons if they have a formal attachment to the job. Persons on parental leave are excluded in the data on average hours worked.
