Job vacancies

The Job Vacancy Survey started in the first quarter of 2009. In the year 2011, 73 800 vacancies were reported. There was a great demand in service and sales workers (30% of all vacancies), also in technicians and associate professionals (18%) and craft and related trade workers (16%). 8% of all vacancies were for elementary occupations. For 38% of all vacancies, only compulsory education was required, 21% of all vacancies required secondary school leaving certificate or a higher degree. For 54% of all vacancies, the expected gross income was below 1 700 Euro and for 28% between 1 700 and 2 400 Euro. 15% of all vacancies are vacancies for part time jobs, 4% are vacancies for minor jobs. Nearly one out of ten vacancies were vacancies for seasonal worker.

In preparation for this survey there has been a pilot project which was conducted from 1 April 2004 to 31 March 2005.
