Rail transport

The surveys in the field of rail transport statistics relate to all domestic and foreign railway companies operating rail transport on Austria’s sovereign territory. The deregulation measures implemented within the European Union and the resulting statutory and organisational changes in the rail sector strongly influence the development of rail transport in Austria. Detailed statistical data is available to all interested parties and decision makers, in particular on the transport volume and the transport performance in total and by types of transport (inland transport, international goods receipt and dispatch, transit), as well as on passenger transport and accidents.
